Fair use rationale for Image:NS logo.jpg

[edit]

Image:NS logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Dates

[edit]

"Chinese Garden MRT Station was formerly known as Jurong Lake, built on 5 November 1988. The station name was changed on August 1985."

How can that be possible? Last I checked, the Clementi to Lakeside section opened in 1988. The first MRT line, the North South Line, only opened in 1987. How could the Chinese Garden MRT Station have been renamed in 1985? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.41.131.253 (talk) 09:51, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

History

  • FN 5: Isn't it, S$64.8 million dollars, not $64.75 million dollars?
It said 64.75 million in here:[1] but for some reason the source was switched. Do you want the approximation (64.8) or the exact value (64.75)? Imbluey2. Please ping me so that I get notified of your response 10:49, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i can’t access the source at the moment and the current source given says 64.8 so use 64.8 brachy08 (chat here lol) 10:51, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Got it. Imbluey2. Please ping me so that I get notified of your response 12:39, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
alright brachy08 (chat here lol) 09:50, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Brachy0008 I've actually made the change several days ago (I should have said that earlier). Can we continue with the GA review? Imbluey2. Please ping me so that I get notified of your response 12:21, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Brachy0008? This a reminder that I have completed the change as requested and was wondering if we can continue with the review? Imbluey2. Please ping me so that I get notified of your response 14:00, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Imbluey2 sorry for the long wait, got a few exams here and there… anyways im back, baby. and im gonna finish as much as i can ;D brachy08 (chat here lol) 10:23, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. I finished all the points just do them and it shall be passed.

  • FN 13: either take a bus or walk 1.3 kilometres (0.81 mi) to Chinese Garden. Not found in the FN. Also most likely WP:OR.
  • FN 14: Failed verification.

@Brachy0008 I do apologise but how is the info considered "WP:OR"? It's stated in the beginning of the source. Other than that, I just removed FN 14 since its stated again in the paragraph, no point keeping it imo. Imbluey2. Please ping me so that I get notified of your response 13:35, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Y'know what, never mind. I think it was considered "original research" in the first place because the source stated "either take a bus or walk 1.3 kilometres (0.81 mi) to Chinese Garden" from Jurong, it didn't actually state if it was from Lakeside or Jurong East stations. Anyways, I removed it and replaced it with "make their way to Chinese Garden" since it was explicitly stated in the source. Imbluey2. Please ping me so that I get notified of your response 00:03, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
you know what, it is technically not original research. you can add it back if you want but ill let it pass brachy08 (chat here lol) 09:30, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • ... that despite being next to the eponymous Chinese Garden, the Chinese Garden MRT station in Singapore did not have direct access to the garden until a year later?

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: None required.

Overall: Earwig hits 2%. No problems found in changes after GA promotion. I reached out to a DYK regular, who proposed some ALTs, so sticking this up.
...that Chinese Garden MRT station originally didn't have access to the Chinese Garden?
... that a transit station in Singapore was inspired by traditional Chinese architecture? I hope this helps. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 06:46, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
