Pre-1950s relations

[edit]

I'm not the person to do so, but I expect the article needs to cover relations going back to the colonial and pre-colonial periods. Otherwise, an excellent start. 61.69.2.101 (talk) 14:26, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong information

[edit]

After the battle of Bach Dang (938), Vietnam is totally independent from China. Since then, Vietnam is not a China's vassal state. So, why does this article says: "it successfully asserted a degree of independence following the Battle of Bạch Đằng River in 938 AD"?

And in 1474 invasion, Vietnam was officially named Dai Viet (literally: Great Viet), why does this articles says Vietnam's name at that time was Annam?

In 1960 the president of China wasn't Deng Xiaoping. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.0.173.41 (talk) 15:37, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Lead section needs attention

[edit]

The lead section is written in rather poor language. Sentences such as "China perceived Vietnam's domination over Indochina from Vietnam's historical legacy" do not even make sense. -The Gnome (talk) 21:10, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
