Requested move 18 March 2023
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: page moved to Ryan Vojtesak. Arbitrarily0 (talk) 19:36, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
Charlie Handsome → Ryan Vojtesak – His real name seems to be the more commonly used, particularly by reliable third-party sources.
- MusicVF lists all his credits as "Ryan Vojtesak".
- Allmusic also defers to the Vojtseak name.
- These two articles from MusicRow both refer to him as Ryan Vojtseak.
- This article refers to him as "Ryan 'Charlie Handsome' Vojtesak", indicating that the Vojtseak name is the more common of the two
- This article from Billboard also refers to him as Ryan Vojtesak.
Most of the hits for "Charlie Handsome" on Google are lyric databases, user submitted content, and/or unrelated false positives that happen to have the words "Charlie" and "Handsome" consecutively (e.g. "picture of Charlie, Handsome dog"). The actual WP:RS type content about him (MusicRow, Billboard, Rolling Stone, etc.) almost unanimously refers to him as Ryan Vojtesak.

- Note - I believe his name is actually spelled "Vojtesak", not "Vojtseak" as he is listed here. Your sources seem to confirm that. Nonetheless, I will support the move so long as we use the proper spelling. He is usually listed with his birth name on songwriting credits, so I find that more suitable. - While I was not pinged, this popped up on my watchlist. I support the move as well. S0091 (talk) 17:25, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

[edit]- Hey...Ryan Vojtesak here. Charlie Handsome is my business / stage name as a producer. Just how Metro Boomin or Murda Beatz or Timbaland aren't actual names, I created the Charlie Handsome brand when my professional career began in 2014. The way publishing works is they have to put both names in the credits on each of my songs unless I am not the producer. Cases where only Ryan Vojtesak is credited only occurs on some Morgan Wallen songs and one Kane brown song. The majority of my songs with major label artists (some 200+) are credited to Charlie Handsome. MusicVF and AllMusic are also peer edited sites as far as I know but the people on there seem far less diligent than wikipedia. Other than wiki...only genius.com seems to keep up with producer credits accurately. I say all this to say as the person this page is about...Charlie Handsome is the correct name for the page. Thanks for listening :) 162.255.3.204 (talk) 11:57, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- I didn't participate in the original discussion, but it seems like a weak consensus. Stage names are usually considered the common name. Post something about this on your Twitter; I'll send it to WP:MR. 162 etc. (talk) 16:41, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- Move undone; see here for more complete rationale. Arbitrarily0 (talk) 14:18, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Charlie Handsome, thanks for bringing this to our attention. In the future it's best to make an edit request (you can use the WP:Edit Request Wizard) as doing so will add it to a list editors review so your requests will not go unnoticed. In addition, please read the biographies of living people policy. If something violates the policy, you can report it at this noticeboard for swift handling. It would also be nice to have a photo of you, which can be uploaded at Commons. Note the photographer needs to be the person to upload it so you can take selfie or have a friend/associate take one and they can upload it. Just be aware the giving it Wikipedia does allow anyone to use it under CC BY-SA. For general questions or help, you can ask at the Teahouse. S0091 (talk) 15:01, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
