Word "sieging"

[edit]

What is the meaning of "sieging" and "sieged" as used in this article. Is it an inaccurate translation from the French?--User:Brenont (talk) 03:05, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that is a false friend translation. But a literal translation does not work well here. Since the French version also says he was a UDF party member, that is what I wrote. Another, a bit far-fetched interpretation would be that he was a supporter, was merely elected on their list. So far-fetched we do not need to quote a source for the obvious meaning. Hope this helps. --Paul Pieniezny (talk) 21:16, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, is there no new news on the guy? Inquiring minds would want to know whether he is stil FN...--Paul Pieniezny (talk) 21:16, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. today there is. So search and maybe in the next few days. I have also been scratching my head. Is there a bit of silence to avoid giving him oxygen? People with unwelcome views and politics are often regarded fringe loony and not important enough to be mentioned. This then generates fewer citations which reduces oxygen further. He had two children? Does he no longer have them? 2001:8003:A070:7F00:8071:D438:669D:2A7C (talk) 00:25, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
