Should not be merged. This is a perfectly good topic in its own right. Charles Matthews 19:19, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- Regardless of whether this is a good topic in its own right or not, there is no place for it in topological space: should the latter article include every topology that anyone has ever thought of? Geometry guy 00:51, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- That's a rather extreme jump. Perhaps there should be an article called "Examples of Topological Spaces" or something like that. Myrkkyhammas 09:35, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
No, really, why? It is good to have articles on typical constructions such as Vietoris topology and Fell topology and Zariski topology and this one. Examples of topologies tend to be illustrative, a source of countexamples and so on; i.e. mostly of pedagogic value. Where there is going to be a need for someone to use WP as a reference (definitely the case for this one), an article is justified. Charles Matthews 11:22, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
