[edit]Does anyone know whether this the same entity as the Cyberspace Administration of China, or, if it is not, what their relationship is? Could it be that the CAC is the executive arm of the Central Leading Group? -- The Anome (talk) 16:17, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
- A Central Leading Group is a coordination body - it's basically a committee where high-ranking executive actors can get together and discuss overarching policies, which are then executed via executive agencies. The Cyberspace Administration of China, if I'm not mistaken, is mostly a regulatory agency that creates specific rules about internet usage and internet content. The executive arm of this group is actually the State Council Information Office, one in the same as the General Office of the Central Leading Group for Internet Security and Informatization, currently led by Lu Wei, who also happens to be one of the deputy chiefs of the propaganda department of the Communist Party. - Let me correct myself - indeed the CAC is the executive organ of the Central Leading Group. However there are two translations. Seems like the preferred translation now is "Cyberspace Affairs" as opposed to "internet security and informatization". Colipon+(Talk) 19:28, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you! And thanks also for your edits to the CAC article. -- The Anome (talk) 09:16, 18 August 2015 (UTC)
