The statement that " They [meaning either the Cedros Islanders or the Cochimí in general] fiercely resisted the Spanish and were never conquered by Europeans, succumbing instead to the introduced diseases brought by the invaders" is not factually accurate. Native resistance to the Spanish in central Baja California was sporadic at most and essentially nonexistent on Cedros. The Cochimí were conquered, and the remaining Cedros Islanders were brought into the mission system. Rhyme3 (talk) 12:34, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The claim that pirates attacking the Manila galeons were specifically based at Cedros is unsupported by any specifics or supporting evidence, and it's probably untrue. Rhyme3 (talk) 12:39, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Note that the dates relating to Puerto Cedros are inconsistent. Rhyme3 (talk) 12:42, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I propose to merge Cedros, Baja California into this article, Cedros Island. Cedros, Baja California is a very short stub about the town on the island of the same name. It can easily be incorporated into the "Population and settlements" section and benefit from the larger context. As a stand-alone article I think it struggles to meet notability, and also may be adding confusion with the island itself. Alan Islas (talk) 16:35, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Smallchief (talk) 16:38, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your feedback Smallchief.
With your support and since there are no objections I'm going to carry out the propose merger.Alan Islas (talk) 14:04, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
