Pitzer Infobox?
[edit]How do I add Pitzer to the infobox? It won't link to the schools unless I choose just one. Sdkb (talk) 02:23, 13 January 2018 (UTC)
Rewrite to be about teams, not mascot?
[edit]The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags and Athenas page is structured to represent the teams, rather than the mascot. I think it would make sense to redo this page in a similar manner, still talking about Cecil but not naming the page after them. - Sdkb (talk) 21:29, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
Requested move 15 August 2018

The result of the move request was: Not moved/moot. The target is now an article about the sports team. Should the article survive Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens (2nd nomination), there's a reasonable case to merge the mascot article there, but that's a separate issue. Cecil the Sagehen → Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens – It'd be more appropriate to name the page after the sports team than after the team's mascot. However, a redirect page for the team already exists, so I'm not sure technically how to do this. Sdkb (talk) 05:10, 15 August 2018 (UTC) --Relisting. - This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:22, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Sdkb: Page Cecil the Sagehen refers briefly to several sports teams. Page Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens redirects to Cecil the Sagehen. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:24, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Anthony Appleyard: The Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens is the joint athletics program for Pomona College and Pitzer College; it's a single team, just for two schools. I think it'd be more appropriate for Cecil to redirect to the team, rather than vice versa, thus my request. - Sdkb (talk) 05:28, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Sdkb: I have changed Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens into a stub article. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:45, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
- I would disagree with this request. It's not uncommon to have Wikipedia articles about a particular mascot, while also maintaining articles about the actual sports teams, too. One could argue that this particular mascot isn't notable enough and thus the content should be merged into the Sagehens article. But simply moving this article doesn't make sense. - Oppose - it's unclear if the mascot and the sports teams are notable or not, but either way that's not a discussion for RM. This article is about the mascot, and the other article Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens is about the teams, so moving one to the other doesn't make sense. — Amakuru (talk) 14:19, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
