Orphaned references in Cash Cash

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Cash Cash's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "bpi":

  • From Andy Grammer: "British single certifications – Andy Grammer". British Phonographic Industry. Retrieved June 27, 2017. Select singles in the Format field. Type Andy Grammer in the "Search BPI Awards" field and then press Enter.
  • From Pink discography: "BRIT Certified - P!nk" (Enter "P!nk" into the "Keywords" box, then select "Search".). British Phonographic Industry. Retrieved April 10, 2020.
  • From Christina Perri discography: "BPI Certified Awards". British Phonographic Industry. Archived from the original on June 4, 2011. Retrieved October 29, 2011.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 07:18, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Years Active

[edit]

I think it’s very misleading to have the years active start date be 2002 and not 2007 which is the actual formation of Cash Cash. The Consequence was a different band with different members and a completely different sound. I agree it should be spoken about in their history to show how the band came to be, but for instance you wouldn’t put the start date of Pearl Jam’s first band Mother Love Bone on Pearl Jam’s wiki page, you would just include it in their bio. The same thing applies here. 2007 is a more appropriate “years active” start date given the context of this group. It’s misleading and leads people to thinking Cash Cash was started in 2002 and is way older than it actually is. 2point5ken (talk) 22:40, 14 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, that's how it's usually handled. Third Eye Blind is similar. The lead singer wrote their biggest hit before the band formed, but we don't add that as part of the "years active". Sergecross73 msg me 19:08, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
