Self-published sources and Blogs

[edit]

I'm afraid that "blogs" can't be considered as WP:RS reliable sources, so that's the reason I'm changing and adding more information this time sourced information to avoid misunderstandings about this 1969 Victor and Vicente Estrada Pacheco original creation [1].--Erebedhel - Talk 18:42, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Conceptual mistakes and large texts with unsourced material

[edit]

I appreciate the efforts of the user who recently contributed to the article. However there is a fundamental mistake with the subject, this article is about Caporales and not Saya (the confusion arouse after a song from the musical group Kjarkas) but academically speaking there is absolutely no doubt about the creators of this dance which are Victor and Vicente Estrada Pacheco who created this dance in 1969 and the introduction should mention that and don't confuse the reader with another dance; the article can be expanded but those concepts can't be mixed and it's worst if it comes from unsourced material or taken from a blog or self-published sources. I won't revert any changes yet waiting for the contributor who made the recent changes to provide sources and fix the formatting for some days. Thank you. --Erebedhel - Talk 01:49, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

== Reorganization == --Danadrianrico (talk) 20:41, 7 March 2010 (UTC) I believe I've waited a prudent amount of time awaiting for sourcing related to the discussion above. So what I'm going to do is move the text corresponding to the Saya to a new article in Afro-Bolivian Saya and proceed to wikify both articles with more sources over the next days. Thank you. Erebedhel - Talk 10:27, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Being in Bolivia, it is a little hard to log on every day without 2 pesos. I believe the discussion on Ballet style Saya and Caporal, however similar, should be in the Saya article. Although it is nessecary to stress the difference between Saya AfroBoliviana, Modern Saya, and Caporales. Not so much about Afro style, but between Modern Style and Caporales, since they are usually mistaken due to the similarity between them. --Danadrianrico (talk) 21:43, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Danadrianrico but could you please provide links for the Modern Saya unfortunately I don't have any information about it. And Wikipedia requires verificability and notability in order to introduce that kind of information. Erebedhel - Talk 22:09, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Erebedhel. It is very hard to provide any information other than word of mouth and\or videos (on youtube.) It is something that you really know if you are involved in the performing; Mostly the difference is in stylistic rather than a concrete historical invention. Now if you would like to see these videos, I can send you some links. However, I believe it is different and valid enough to warrant a small article (like Diablada of Oruro and Puno.) Please send me a message and I can explain, and then you can edit as you see fit. --Danadrianrico (talk) 20:41, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that if that's the case it wouldn't constitute encyclopedic material, Wikipedia does not allow original research but compiles information that was already documented elsewhere. Since you're interested in collaborating with the project I sent you a welcome note so you can read more about Wikipedia policies and aims and you can learn how to contribute more, thanks Erebedhel - Talk 20:58, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I really think that this a wrong concept about CAPORALES ,caporales made in Peru —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.156.38.32 (talk) 17:35, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, Caporales is a dance that was indeed created in Bolivia. There are several cultural links between Bolivia and Peru that are particularly obvious in terms of certain dances; especially since southeastern Peru is part of the Aymara sphere of culture. However, even though Caporales is based on past traditional dances (particularly Saya), it was created in 1969 and its specific history is recorded to have been in La Paz.--MarshalN20 | Talk 04:22, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page protected

[edit]

Since there's been a slow-burning edit war here for a few weeks now, I've fully protected the page for 3 days. I expect to see discussion of the disputed content; I see MarshalN20 has tried to bring it up here. Please discuss, and let me know if it's resolved prior to the expiration of the protection. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 19:50, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm willing to discuss. Why does the user want to delete the material? The Bolivian community in Argentina dance it, and it is common to see it in Peru as well during festivities.--MarshalN20 | Talk 02:31, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I should also note that I've asked LucMar to talk here as well. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 06:14, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The user failed to respond during the time of the page protection, so I have re-inserted the material.--MarshalN20 | Talk 04:35, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Incorrect Translation

[edit]

I'm not certain if the writer is joking, but "chinas" is Spanish for Chinese and "machas" translates as males. 2600:1702:C59:1890:4BB8:94BF:4F94:9281 (talk) 06:42, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
