Canal Width
[edit]I question the assertion that, with a width of 480 feet, the canal is (or was at one point?) the widest in the world. The October 1974 issue of Naval Institute Proceedings (p.104) indicates the Suez Canal has a width of approximately 500 feet. Thewellman (talk) 06:47, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
