Didn't Sir C. Aubrey Smith get knighted for the positive British image he portrayed in films? He still comes across in films as the gruff but strong and good British aristocrat to American audiences) I don't have a reference or I would add more detail to the knighthood comment 75.4.160.32 (talk) 03:37, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Knighthood was "for services to the theatre": added ref to the DNB definitive biography. Npaskin (talk) 16:45, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Great actor! I've seen it many times in old films, and always with great class. Was a gentleman by its four sides, and His face was classical.

Possible trivia: I recently saw a screening of This Is the Night at the Stanford Theatre, and believe I saw a 1-second cameo by C. Aubrey Smith about 30 minutes into the film near the end of the musical number where the porters are passing baggage onto the train. Can anyone with access to the film confirm this? It's a Paramount Pictures production, where Smith was working at the time. Rairden (talk) 06:50, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccuracy

[edit]

It says he was in Little Women in 1949, but that he died in 1948. 2600:4040:9109:F200:CF0:C6E0:D7F:79DE (talk) 14:51, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
