[edit]Why do we have this page when there is already a "bill Bruford" page? - it's particularly confusing as of course Bill's son Alex is also a professional musician with Infadels (Wall of Sound)
- "Bruford" was a band led by Bill Bruford, one of several bands he was a part of. While Bill clearly led the band, he made it clear that others were equal members in the project. It's analogous to having pages for both Van Halen and Eddie Van Halen. --dm (talk) 15:49, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
I have moved all the information to "Bill Bruford", so... I think this page should be deleted.

- I respectfully disagree. Each of Bill Bruford's bands — including Bruford — should and do have their own WP pages. Rather than deleting this page, why not expand it to include more info not on the Bill Bruford page. —D. Monack talk 03:41, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- My opinion is the same as D. Monack's - please consider that Wikipedia is not limited the same way a book is, so, in my opinion, there is no need to merge articles via redirects except when it's harmless, such as in case of alternative spellings or misspellings. Note that the Wikipedia:Redirect page says a valid purpose of redirection is "Sub-topics or other topics which are described or listed within a wider article. (Such redirects are often targeted to a particular section of the article.)". I would argue that this point is wrong in many cases; instead of creating redirects for short articles like this one, why not expand it as D. Monack proposes? Also, please note that bands that share the name with a leading member of the band are not uncommon, as for instance Bon Jovi, Pat Metheny Group, Chase, and plenty others. --2.110.114.86 (talk) 10:42, 31 October 2014 (UTC)

Bruford (disambiguation) → Bruford – move the disambiguation page over the redirect (which currently targets Bill Bruford#Solo career, a missing section). Even though he named his band after him, he isn't Bach ;-) Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 15:05, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. Neither the band, which has been defunct for some four decades, nor the musician, is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC of the stand-alone name. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 16:31, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
- Support Bill gets 11,883 views compared to 721 for the band[[1]], given most people looking for Bill would type his full name and those looking for the band probably wouldn't expect him to be at "Bruford" it seems better to have the DAB at the base name.
