Scotrail units

[edit]

The article current implies nine 170/4 trains have been cascaded from Scotrail, whereas the Southern Railway press release (http://www.southernrailway.com/your-journey/station-information/uckfield-line-platform-extensions/) says 12 carriages, i.e. 4 x 3-car trains. Can someone with access to the source confirm this? 80.6.71.205 (talk) 08:37, 28 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Replacement units for Southern services

[edit]

I've noticed that someone recently edited the article saying that 12 of the 20 Class 171s will be cascaded to East Midlands Railway. Does anyone have any information on what is going to replace these units on the Southern network? I can't find anything online. 2A00:23C5:D033:4400:64FC:98BE:56D8:41AA (talk) 10:16, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If it's unsourced, WP:CRYSTAL applies. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 10:31, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
By the sound of it it is happening, but no firm plans about replacement [1]. -mattbuck (Talk) 13:12, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The following bit needs updating

[edit]

"In September 2022, 171202, 171401 and 171402 were transferred to East Midlands Railway and renumbered to 170422, 170423 and 170424 before being renumbered to Class 170/9s."

This bit needs updating. EMR only ran them as 170/9s until they replaced the Dellner couplers with BSI couplers. 2A00:23EE:15B8:5387:BB50:B726:3E7C:56E3 (talk) 09:42, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
