Removed Boxwood Group material

[edit]

I removed a brochure-like paragraph from the top of this page for Boxwood Group, a consulting firm. Do not put content in disambiguation pages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by John Chamberlain (talkcontribs) 19:31, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That material was added again, perhaps in somewhat revised form. I just removed the following:
To whomever is interested in having this appear in the disambiguation page, please understand, it is Wikipedia policy/guidelines for disambiguation pages that basically only actual Wikipedia articles should be listed. I don't know whether the Boxwood Ltd consultancy firm is notable enough for there to be an actual Wikipedia article about it. You could try creating that article, hopefully including references from reliable sources. If it survives the wikipedia editors who try to manage new articles, then you could come back and possibly add it here. Although even then, it is not necessarily relevant for a dab page about things named "Boxwood". The exception for the only-actual-Wikipedia-articles rule is the MOS:DABRL rule, which allows for a "red-link" item like the one about a NRHP-listed place named Boxwood, for which wikipedia-notability is established by a supporting bluelink to an actual wikipedia article that mentions the same redlink, in context establishing notability. Hope this helps. --doncram (talk) 19:19, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ordering and other

[edit]

The current version mixes up a school not actually named just "Boxwood", with other items that are named simply that. It's not clear why, given that other places that include Boxwood as one word in their name, are included in See also section below.

After the most important item, Boxwood as a shrub/tree, the order is perhaps not that important since there are so few entries. But I fail to see how this current version is better in organization than this previous version. doncram (talk) 19:12, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

BoxwoodBoxwood (disambiguation) – Far and away the primary topic for this term, both in usage and in importance, is the genus, Buxus, known as boxwood in North America. The other meanings are individual houses with little to be said about them (only one actually has an article). I propose to move this page to Boxwood (disambiguation), and redirect this title to Buxus, with an appropriate hatnote. bd2412 T 21:53, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
