Some people spread the idea that this type of ice cream is an Arab/Syrian invention called "Booza" - this is incorrect: "Booza" is a loanword and has its origin in the turkish word for ice : BUZ , Turks brought it from central-asia. In the 15th AD there were no countries called "Syria" and "Libanon" it was the Ottoman Empire. This ice-cream is in fact a turkish invention ,the original recipe is the famous Maraş dondurması ("Maras Ice -Cream") from Türkiye.
