As the article indicates, founding member Jonathan Brightman is a former member of Buckcherry (who have a Wikipedia page). They had a gold record and a Grammy nomination while he was in the band. I will provide more info this evening if necessary, but that should be enough to meet your criteria for significance. In addition, they are signed to Rocket Science, a record label that also includes artists such as Cyndi Lauper, Smashing Pumpkins, James Taylor, Dolly Parton, The DOors, Jerry Lee Lewis, etc.
