Continues to grow as the only Catholic high school in Pasco county.

removal of Franklin German, Alex Padilla (priest) and Rajeev Philip from Notable alumni

[edit]

Inclusion in the notable alumni list requires reliably sourced evidence that they attended the school and that they are notable. (see WP:ALUMNI) Additional guidance at WP:LISTBIO says: "For instance, articles about schools often include (or link to) a list of notable alumni/alumnae, but such lists are not intended to contain everyone who attended the school — only those with verifiable notability. "

References support alumnus status for Padilla and Philip. This link confirms that German is an alumnus.

There are notability guidelines that presume certain Catholics and baseball players are notable. These are found at WP:NCATHOLIC and WP:NBASE. Putting it simply: Being a priest or being drafted by Major League Baseball does not presume notability.

IMO the best evidence of a persons Wikipedia notability is an existing article about them. Lacking that we need to evaluate whether they are verifiably notable based on sources that have been found.

Failing the criteria for presumed notablity leaves the possbility of satisfying either General notability (WP:N) or Notability (people) (WP:BIO).

Franklin German has a reference with minor coverage. He is covered in various baseball database sites. The sources I've found would not avoid deletion in an AFD discussion. Lacks significant coverage by multiple independent reliable sources. If German later plays at the major league level it's likely he could have an article.

Alex Padilla (priest) has a reference with minor coverage that is not independent. Searching found no significant coverage by independent sources.

Rajeev Philip has references that are not independent so they are not helpful to notability. One has a very brief mention. The other has more coverage although much of it comes from Philip which again is not helpful to notability. Lacks significant coverage by multiple independent reliable sources.

Because the three names appear to fail Wikipedia notability criteria I'm removing them again today. I suggest other editors provide justification here explaining what notability guidelines they meet before adding the names again. Or simply write articles for them.
