Could you please edit to have an introduction section and then the biography? 170.148.10.44 (talk) 19:42, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I stubbed the article because the text was taken from http://rrtd.nic.in/Birsa.html. The Wikipedia article featured some clever rewordings, but still maintained the same sentence structures and phrases. BuddingJournalist 03:26, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Better sources required

[edit]

The article needs better reliable sources. I have added one source(book written by one Neeraj(?  !)), but it is a children's book!!? If I find better source, I will replace this one. Can somebody help to find better source for this article? - Rayabhari (talk) 14:49, 20 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Birsa as Bhagwan Munda?

[edit]

I understand that Birsa Munda was working as clerk for some time and he called himself Bhagwan Munda. Will someone clarify if my impressions R wrong. 223.176.0.240 (talk) 09:37, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why "Vaishnava" sect?

[edit]

A subsection in the article is titled "New Vaishnava sect". Under that subsection it is written how Birsa Munda started reviving his tribal culture. But how is it related to "Vaishnava sect"? Why Vaishnava? Why not Shaivism? -- KoiRitwikHai (talk) 18:05, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Changing Section Title

[edit]

The section title "New Vaishnav Sect" is misleading in the context of Birsa Munda's movement. Birsa's primary focus was on reviving the traditional tribal religion of the Munda people, and there is no strong evidence linking his movement to Vaishnavism. The current title could confuse readers by suggesting a connection to a Hindu sect rather than highlighting his efforts to restore indigenous tribal practices.

Changing the title to "Revival of Tribal Religion" to more accurately reflect the content. Callmehelper (talk) 00:20, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
