Timeline
[edit]Per the sources already given in the article, Berbati's Pan was a nightclub that operated from 1994 to 2010 and briefly operated as a nightclub called Ted's at some period between 2010 and 2012. A restaurant/bar operated from 1985 to at least 2015, (maybe with some distruptions after 2010?) and the space was sold in 2015 to new owners who wanted to keep a restaurant/bar operating. - Was Ted's the same owner, just a name change of the venue? Berbati's Pan is strictly till 2010. If you want to make a change, you'd have to qualify the distinction. Leitmotiv (talk) 18:28, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Leitmotiv @Plantdrew Do either of you have thoughts on the notability tag? ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:01, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
- I suppose not. I'm constantly confused as to how most articles require notable secondary sources, which this supplies, but in the case of this article, it's not good enough. I can understand more scientifically rigid articles having a stricter requirement. To my laymen's eyes it appears the goalposts are being moved. Suddenly the notability is not what's important, but the lasting effect on culture, which seems rather subjective. Is culture not measured by notability in articles, at least in part? Leitmotiv (talk) 20:36, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Leitmotiv In my humble opinion, the tag was added after a ridiculous discussion. Regardless, the tag has been removed once and now an editor has added a tag again. I guess I'm asking, are you comfortable removing the tag if you feel the topic is notable based on secondary coverage? ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:51, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Another Believer Seeing as how every sentence is cited, except one, I think the notability tag is also ridiculous. Leitmotiv (talk) 22:56, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for removing. ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:45, 11 January 2023 (UTC)

Categories
[edit]Do Category:Restaurants established in 1985 and Category:2010 disestablishments in Oregon apply? ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:53, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
@Another Believer:, well that is what I was trying to get at with the Timeline thread above. "Berbati's Pan" (the title of this article) is a nightclub that operated from 1994 to 2010. The nightclub was associated with a restaurant ("Berbati") that operated from 1985 to 2015ish. The 1985 to 2010 years of operation currently in the lead of this article does not correspond to the nightclub nor to the restaurant. Categories for years of establishment/disestablishment would depend on sorting out whether this is an article about the restaurant, the nightclub, or both (I'd say the primary claim to notability is for the nightclub).
