- It wasn't the size of the article, it was its lack of notability. Wikipedia is serious about sharing information, but it is not an indiscriminate mass of facts - there needs to be a reason why an article exists beyond the ability of editors to write it down and source it. Evans' best claim to fame is as secretary of the BMS, which I've now added to the article. Authorship of a book on Thomas Price is not notable as far as I can tell - its in the article (and now referenced) but as a standalone claim is not sufficient to meet the notability guidelines.
