Dating anomaly
[edit]There is a dating anomaly in Jones. The sequence of events presented runs:
- On 25 November 1941 the XP-52 was canceled in favor of the XP-59.
- On 3 October 1941 the XP-59A jet-powered project usurped the P-59 designation "already assigned to the defunct XP-59".
The anomaly is that the XP-59 project was apparently started a week or so after it was already "defunct". The resolution would seem to be either there is a mistaken date here, or that the XP-59 was a spurious project dreamed up solely as a cover story for the jet. Does anybody have access to a source which reveals the truth of the matter? — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 12:30, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
