I have placed a "mergeto" tag on the article Bedford High School (Bedford, New Hampshire), which covers the same topic as this article. As there is only one Bedford High School in New Hampshire, this article, with the shorter title, should receive the info from the other article. --Ken Gallager 13:45, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion

[edit]

Bedford High School (New Hampshire) should be moved to Bedford High School (Bedford, New Hampshire) according to WP:NC(S). Though "Bedford" is redundant, it should be included, as discussed here. Bedford High School (Bedford, New Hampshire) was originally a duplicate article, but then merged to Bedford High School (New Hampshire), and is currently redirecting to the merged article. So both articles have a history that needs to be preserved. --Dan LeveilleTALK 06:14, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose. Dan gives my reason, which is that having Bedford twice in the title is redundant. I'll add that it's cumbersome as well. The discussion over whether to have the names uniform or not seems to come back to the idea that it will be confusing to have just the state name in article titles, but I don't see that being the case at all. If the school is named after the community (e.g. Bedford High School, Gorham High School, etc.), there should be no problem of confusion if just the state name is given. And there can always be redirects.--Ken Gallager (talk) 14:22, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
