[edit]This is my first and, hopefully, last attempt at a battle history. I do not like writing military history. I know that there are about a score of templates, boxes, maps and the like that battle authors like to employ. I know of none of them and invite those who are conversant to prettify at will. Ranks
[edit]In the Battle section no ranks are given for Horatio G. Wright and Isaac I. Stevens. With breveting and temporary ranks and all I'm not sure of the appropriate rank to insert. WikiParker (talk) 12:27, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- Both were brigadier generals of volunteers. I updated it. Hal Jespersen (talk) 15:19, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Hey
[edit]The title is great, but the actual name of the battle that books are named after, annual reenactments are named after, and that people look back at is Secessionville. it was a major battle on James Island, but I suggest renaming this article back to Secessionville, and redirect "battle of James Island" to this

- I agree. That's how it is in the Campaignbox as well as at the Civil War Sites Advisory Commission of the American Battlefield Protection Program, a unit of the National Park Service, which was the source for all of the WP:MILHIST civil war campaign organization. See http://www.nps.gov/history/hps/abpp/battles/bycampgn.htm If there are no objections anytime soon, I'll move it back. Mojoworker (talk) 17:12, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
