Footnote 5 seems off
[edit]Footnote 5 mentions the year 1992 but in the main text it’s talking about 1997. Seems like the footnote text is incorrect? 2601:600:8E80:9ECA:EC60:28C5:C6A4:32E7 (talk) 03:27, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Guinness323: You are probably correct. CCGs were created in 1993, making 1992 erroneous. Or, it's an improperly placed citation. Leitmotiv (talk) 05:20, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for bringing this to my attention. The review is correct (Issue 240 of Dragon, October 1997), but the citation was incorrect, probably a cut & paste error from another article. All fixed now. Guinness323 (talk) 06:00, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
Ended 1998 or 2001?
[edit]The article said 2001, and this is repeated on many websites, but I think it is dubious (an error reproduced from some source, possibly from us - note this sentence has a footnote to Miller, John Jackson (2003), Scrye Collectible Card Game Checklist & Price Guide, Second Edition, pp. 87–95.). As far as I can tell (and I also played the game and collected it...) the last sets for this game appeared in 1998 (Commander's Edition base set and Crusade expansion), and that was it. So I am not sure where the date 2001 can come from... @Guinness323 @BOZ Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:08, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- The date 2001 dates back to the very first stub [1]. The date is listed as "2001 (?)", so clearly even the original editor had doubts about that date. If we can find a source for 1998, let's change it. Otherwise, should "2001" be removed? Guinness323 (talk) 07:06, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Guinness323 It might be interesting to read Carnes, Shawn F. (February 1999). "Commander's crusade". The Duelist. No. 34. Wizards of the Coast. pp. 80–81. if anyone can access it. Otherwise, I've added a source for Crusade being the last set (in 1998), although I cannot find a source that clearly states that this is the final set of this CCG - but it is obvious from the fact that there have been no other sets for this.
