The result of the move request was: Move Balakhna, Balakhninsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast to Balakhna, and Balakhna to Balakhna (disambiguation). Cúchullain t/c 18:23, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

– While not a major city, Balakhna in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast has been a city for several centuries. As the article mentioned, it has actually been shown on (some) world maps for over 300 years. It is listed in any atlas of Russia, and mentioned in any decent Russia geography book. All other places with the same name are small villages, probably only shown on topographic maps; their total population, no doubt, is a small fraction of that of Balakhna the city. Of course, pretty much every occurrence of the word in English-language books is a reference to Balakhna the city. The situation is pretty similar to what we've discussed in Talk:Kstovo a few weeks ago. -- Vmenkov (talk) 00:19, 12 December 2012 (UTC) Vmenkov (talk) 00:19, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Balakhna (disambiguation) would be my natural choice too, except for the fact that, as Ezhiki has explained in detail in Talk:Kstovo, the informative "set index" pages he creates (such as Balakhna as it is stands now) would not be allowed to exist as "disambiguations" due to certain (silly, from my point of view) formal criteria and policies. -- Vmenkov (talk) 05:29, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
