Historic Town ... with a little culture
Baker City boasts a good mix of historic buildings and some incredible scenery. Located in the Powder River Valley, it is located between the Eagle Cap Range of the Wallowa Mountains (to the north and east) --and the Elkhorn Range (to the west). Baker City is a recreation paradise with activities including: hunting, fishing, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, rafting, rock climbing ...
If you stop into Baker City, be sure to stop at Barley Brown's Brew Pub. Barley Brown's is one of the top rated brewpubs in the northwest. All of their beer is brewed on-site and the food is fantastic!!!! At the 2006 North American Brewers Association's "North American Beer Awards", Barley Brown's collected 8 Medals (2 Gold, 1 Silver, 5 Bronze) to complement their 2 Medals (1 Gold, 1 Bronze) in 2005. Stop by and see Tyler Brown & Shawn Kelso, the brewers, and ask them what they would recommend. My personnal favorites are the 3-time Medallist "Whiskey Malt Ale" and if you're lucky enough to get some ... the Scotch Ale. --T.England 18:23, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
