Wording

[edit]

This needs some reworking sentences like:"RS owners need make no sacrifice for everyday comfort, luxury and practicality" are like advertimsnet style... --— Typ932T | C  10:08, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The tone is no different to that found on BMW M (it has similar wording). I really don't think it is any more of an "advert" compared to any of the thousands of other Wikipedia "commercial product" articles. I think your concerns (the bit you quoted above) are notable for this article, because many "high performance" cars generally compromise on either two or three of the attributes (comfort, luxury, practicality), and some sports cars, such as say the Lotus Elise do completely without all three! Kind regards -- Teutonic_Tamer (talk to Teutonic_Tamer) 14:01, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Quite many BMW articles are really bad... those arent great examples. For example see articles like Maserati MC12 or other selected ones. Every car has compromises in one area or other. --— Typ932T | C  14:49, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm . . . I agree the MC12 is a very good article, however, I notice it has a few references from questionable sources! -- Teutonic_Tamer (talk to Teutonic_Tamer) 15:40, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism and 'advert'

[edit]

This article is NOT written like an advert. Typ932 keeps on vandalising it by specifically removing wording (along with other important edits) which clearly states that you can NOT purchase cars (or their other products) directly from quattro GmbH.

If anyone DOES have a problem, then why don't they edit using better 'wording', rather than simply adding a dubious banner, and deleting other important text! 78.32.143.113 (talk) 19:46, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank-you. It is much better to actually correct the text, rather than simply flag up with un-necessary banners. :) But I do question why 'exclusive' was removed from the Audi R8 text - as that is a factual comment, rather than a comment of opinion or interpretation. 78.32.143.113 (talk) 20:24, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think that word is unneeded , if not put it back --Typ932 T·C 20:30, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Logo image

[edit]

As far as I can tell, quattro was created by Audi as their high performance division. It doesn't seem like they've ever existed independently, and they don't seem to have their own logo outside of Audi. If this is the case we should remove the request for logo images. Madmonky (talk) 12:41, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

But 'quattro GmbH' is listed as a separate company. OK, it might not have started like AMG did (which was a separate private tuining company, specialising in Mercs, and was then purchased by Mercedes-Benz), but quattro GmbH does have its own accounts, and board of directors - and therefore should have its own logo. quattro GmbH has 'evolved' in a similar fashion as BMW's M-sport division. So we should keep on searching! 78.32.143.113 (talk) 11:25, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Quattro GmbH cars even had a distinct VIN prefix: WUAZZZ instead of WAUZZZ. This may have been different in the US, but it certainly was true for the EU. I do not know if this is still the case, for Audi Sport GmbH.

Template content is causing PDF printing issues

[edit]

PDF output using Google Chrome's built-in distiller produces poor results with this page. (Use the Ctrl P command in Chrome to preview). Issue may be with the template used or (more likely) the the way content was entered into the template and saved by the contributor. For example, when printing this article with Google's PDF printer, the info-box content exceeds 100% of the printed page's width, and information is cut off. The info-box column should not exceed 50% on a portrait layout (45% appears nicer and looks closer to a WYSIWYG web page view), Note that the font size should not dynamically scale up or down to fit a page; font size of the main-body text content should be about 12 points on outputted PDF page(s); it is the images and table cells that should dynamically scale up or down to fit the info box in order to maintain the two-column Wikipedia layout.
