Is it named feudal tribe, because it is an old arabian-iranian mix tribe!
The arabs aren't feudal only you want to public here faschistic propagandas.
The tribe is like every isolated tribes a little bit conservativ and they married a long time by tradition only with their relations but the great part of the tribe is in the meantime from the baha'i faith and they are mostly academic. The prince of Birjand is related with Alam and loved Shah Reza Pahlavi and is a member of the emperor family, a vegetarian, an animal and human rights protector, a german-iranian one and very poor like the most members of the tribe. He is an descendant of the 7th shia Imam and the safavid kings. View iwm.info.ms,... and other sites of these tribe and perhaps you correct the word feudal.
One criminal man of the tribe must not mean that all the tribe is a feudal one. Please inform us more about the sources and details of the information you had.
I have removed the reference to "Amir Ebrahim Pahlavi Alam", (it used to be "don't mistake the identity with Amir Ebrahim Pahlavi Alam, the grandson of the Shah of Iran") as I am unable to confirm the existance of such a person. If someone can create an article wit henough info on the alleged grandson of the Shah, the reference and link can be restored. 154.20.151.18806:50, 7 December 2006 (UTC)mirfakhr[reply]
However, Assadollah Alam himself seems to have had a grandson called Amir Ebrahim through his daughter. So the surname of this Amir Ebrahim should not have been Alam, unless he had it changed later on. To the best of my knowledge he was not a grandson of the Shah either.154.20.151.18806:50, 7 December 2006 (UTC)mirfakhr[reply]
