- @WhisperToMe: Here are more clippings from the early days of Arcadia High. The first article was interesting to me for the statewide context. I'm recalling my grandmother's letters, circa 1900, in which she explained to one of her cousins she had been discouraged from going on to high school. I think that a century ago, it was fairly rare to seek a high school education, especially in rural or farming communities. Anyway, I'll keep hunting for articles about the actual inception of Arcadia High. It apparently precedes the articles dated 1903 in this batch:
