The result of the move request was: move Animate → Animate (retailer). For this close, redirecting Animate → Animation per the last three or four !votes as there was no consensus to move the disambiguation page to the base name and it has to land the reader somewhere and there is consensus that it's not the retailer; no prejudice against a new RM to move the disambiguation page to the base name. -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:25, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
– WP:ASTONISH, a retailer should not be primary topic of such a common word, when there are multiple encyclopedic generic meanings of it (e.g. Animation and Animacy). King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 17:38, 23 June 2020 (UTC)

- Support (strongly, 100%) per nom. No primary topic for this term, and if there was one, it certainly wouldn't be the retailer. Move disambiguation page to basename. Paintspot Infez (talk) 19:52, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose 1st, support 2nd - this should be a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to animation. -- Netoholic @ 20:09, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- Support Animation gets 33,847 views compared to only 824 for the retailer, also the song gets 204 which put PT in doubt even without animation. Maybe it should be a primary topic redirect to animation but at least there is no primary topic. Adobe Animate which gets 8,912[[1]] comes up 1st on Google and apparently nothing about the retailer, similarly for Images and Books. Crouch, Swale (talk) 21:54, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- Support 2nd; retarget "Animate" to "Animation". I am on the fence about whether "Animate" should point to "Animation", but I think it's far enough away that readers would certainly be less surprised to land on a disambiguation page than they would be to land on the article for the retailer. - The reason I'm in favor of a PRIMARYREDIRECT is primarily to aid editor linking. By far, most uses of animate on Wikipedia are going to be in reference to animation rather than the word relating to animacy. -- Netoholic @ 03:22, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- I am convinced by the further discussion that "Animate" should redirect to to "Animation", and have changed my !vote accordingly. BD2412 T 15:06, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

- Comment – I am surprised animate doesn't redirect to animation. cookie monster (2020) 755 03:19, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
