Prehistory
[edit]- this section inserted 2013-03-28 --P64 (talk) 16:53, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
This page was created 2006-12-28 by import from the biography Andre Norton {version 2006-12-17}. Six old sections of Talk:Andre Norton concern the lists of works exclusively and some others may pertain.
Talk:Andre Norton, 2004–2006 contents [bold highlights pure bibliography] 1 Untitled 2 Splitting off series into separate articles 3 missing books 4 Android at Arms 5 Gutenberg links---please link to the catalog. 6 The bibliography section is redundant. 7 Alan E. Nourse 8 Bibliography Corrections 9 Collaborator? 10 Lyn McConchie 11 Separate Bibliography of Andre Norton [concludes with report "done"]
CSD
[edit]Db-author tag removed. I see no evidence that the criteria are met for CSD-G7. Mike Christie (talk) 22:48, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
Double listings
[edit]That the Gryphon books are mentioned twice, once under the High Hallack series and then once again as their own series is confusing. I think each book should be listed only once. The three Gryphon books definitely do constitute their own sub-series, and they definitely do take place on the High Hallack continent. Does anyone else have ideas on how to reconcile the double listing? DanQuigley

- Wikipedia bibliographies vary. I don't know what practices are deprecated.
- This bibliography now lists Gryphon books only once, in section 2.25.2 Witch World / High Hallack Cycle.

Tor Books
[edit]The first book published by Tom Doherty under the Tor Books imprint? I tagged that {citation needed}. It may be true. Tor established 1980, we say. The May 1981 date ISFDB gives for Forerunners is the earliest it gives for Tor/Pinnacle or Tor --a tie with two other books-- and it gives Forerunners the lowest ISBN. [1] [2]

Subtitles, etc
[edit]- second of two new sections posted at once -P64
For each of the early novels with very long subtitles, at least, I guess that a short entry with footnote may be the way to go.

Dipple series more widespread?
[edit]This page lists the Dipple series as containing 2 books, and says it has links to the Janus series (also 2 books) and the Forerunner series (5 books), making 9 associated books in total. Interestingly, Amazon has a list of the Dipple series claiming that it is 35 books long, although they only list 27 books with noticeable gaps in the numbering. This list was presumably not created by the author herself, since she's been dead for 13 years, so one wonders who created it and how they associated these books. And what the missing books are. — CWesling (talk) 21:58, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
Quag Keep
[edit]There is a cover for this book, whenever someone is able to create an article: File:NortonQuagKeepGaughanCover.jpg. 8.37.179.254 (talk) 20:59, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
Single titles
[edit]Brother to Shadows includes references to events in Forerunner Foray.
Several of the books labelled "nongenre" are historical fiction. 104.153.40.58 (talk) 02:20, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
Catfantastic edits
[edit]50.205.182.253 has repeatedly added this change to the "Catfantastic" section of the Andre Norton bibliography. I believe this is a bad change because:
- It adds redlinks for the the series, for all five volumes, and for five short stories. This goes against the look and feel of this bibliography, which otherwise doesn't have redlinks for works without articles.
- It incorrectly lists illustrators for the books (they're really cover artists).
Requesting comments from anyone who has an opinion on this. Dan Bloch (talk) 01:21, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
