On their DVD they present some additional information: It was recorded before a sell-out audience at London’s Players' Theatre on 5th July 2007. It was produced by The Friday Project. The DVD runs approximately 82 minutes and features songs from Fitness to Practice and new songs. They reunited on stage for the first time in two years.
Suman Biswas is a 29 year old anaesthetist. He met Adam at medical school in the late 90s and Amateur Transplants was born.
Adam Kay is 26 year old and has written for BBC Radio 4 and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe.
In a blog: http://london.fridaycities.com/radar/2007/8/23/fridaycities-meets-suman-biswas Suman Biswas tells that he is an anaesthetist:
It’s like being a pilot. A proportion of the work is done by the equipment, but you need to be there and to know exactly what to do when something goes wrong. Otherwise people die.
But usually, people come out the other end and don’t have the first idea what you’ve been doing behind the scenes to keep them away from death’s door, they just thank the surgeon for the unsightly scar and the two weeks off work.
(Remember kids, the Anaesthetist is your friend – he’s the one with the painkillers and is trying to keep you alive while the surgeon tries his best to kill you.)
On the DVD he introduced the song Anaesthetists Hymn:

The text from the song differs from his blog but also contrasts the introduction. --Mfranck 09:20, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Citation for Nail Boms
[edit]I added a citation linking to a youtube video of their DVD, and it was auto-reverted. I'll leave this to an experienced wikipedia editor to rectify. 89.240.193.22 (talk) 11:19, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

Outdated information?
[edit]Is this band actually still active? In a quote published in a 2019 news article, Kay describes his involvement in the band in the past tense. Lemonpip (talk) 22:15, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
