Male and Female

[edit]

If there were not separate male and female versions, then why does MobyGames have scans of the box covers of distinct male and female versions? :p

I just visited MobyGames and I don't see different covers for different versions. I see one cover with depicts both male and females. You have a link to the different box covers?
I worked in a software store when this game was released. There was only one version. It's been a while, but I beleive the player chose whether to be male or female. Releasing different versions for each sex would seem like shameless fleecing, IMHO. :-) Frecklefoot | Talk 18:28, July 27, 2005 (UTC)
I'm talking about the second and third covers on this page: http://www.mobygames.com/game/alter-ego/cover-art --Brolin Empey 20:35, 2005 July 27 (UTC)
There most definitely is a separate female version, since I just spent about half an hour playing it. I can provide screenshots if you want. --Brolin Empey 21:31, 2005 July 27 (UTC)
Screenshots of female version contributed to MobyGames: http://www.mobygames.com/game/alter-ego/screenshots --Brolin Empey 01:44, 2005 July 28 (UTC)
Okay, you are absolutely right, I was wrong. I guess my memory from 15 years (or so) ago is not quite perfect. Go ahead and make the changes to the article to mention this. If you'd like to contribute some screenshots for this article, that'd be great. :-) Thanks. Frecklefoot | Talk 17:14, July 28, 2005 (UTC)

RPG

[edit]

I changed the game category from 'simulation' to 'RPG'. The game didn't really simulate any sort of outside world, and like any RPG it had an unfolding story that the player would play through. And the player actually had stats that he could advance and utilize. Tempshill 18:48, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Online version

[edit]

I'm curious, should there be a reference to the online version? http://www.theblackforge.net/index.html This one doesn't work for me, but one of the mirrors work, and it seems like just about the same game, with different icons in some cases. It's perhaps a clone, but surely deserves mention? -- Zalethon (Talk) 21:31, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
