[edit]I have added more biographical information regarding Davis's life as a university student as well as his initial career in literature. I also began a section on his anthropological career, which should take up the bulk of the article. However, more citations are needed, especially as I relied heavily on David Varel's 2015 thesis and did not know how to cite various page numbers; currently all citation links lead to the same reference without specifying the relevant page number.M.R.
