- First, that would need a reliable source per WP:BLPRS. Second, why exactly does that need to be mentioned? Should we also put that her mother is Irish Catholic or Protestant? clpo13(talk) 18:03, 29 June 2018 (UTC)

Addiotinoal Information: Reason why Alice Merton and Paul Grauwinkel founded own record label suggestion
[edit]Text suggestion: After moving to Berlin, Merton and her manager had several meetings with major labels. When this proved unsuccessful, they began discussing other options and set up their own label, releasing No Roots on their own terms.
Sources confirming this:
She explains the reasoning for creating her own label, Paper Plane Records International: “It happened early, just because we didn't get any other deals,” she admits candidly, bursting into laughter.

[edit]2023
In 2023, Alice Merton released two stand alone singles: Waste My Life and Charlie Brown. Waste My Life was first introduced on the S.I.D.E.S. tour in 2022. On January 19, 2023 the song was released alongside a live video as thank you to all her fans.
After touring with Bastille in North America found herself back in the studio, writing with Chris Wood aka “Woody” the Drummer from Bastille and Songwriter/Producer Matt Wills. Merton recalls “It was honestly one of the best times of my life, getting to tour with such a lovely group of people, and then creating music together” William Farquarson (Bass player in Bastille) joined the session a few weeks later and out came “Charlie Brown”.

[edit]After two studio albums, Alice's next chapter began in 2024 with the release of 'Heron'. In this EP her thoughts turn inwards, and instead of finding a home in the outside world, she went on an internal journey of feeling lost on the inside and asking the question of all questions: who am I supposed to be, and how well do you know yourself at all?
It questions one’s own happiness, in a world where we are constantly influenced by other people’s opinions on what happiness is for them, especially through social media. It’s become almost impossible to filter out the noise and truly ask ourselves “What is it that we really want out of this life, and how well do we actually know ourselves at all? Can we independently find happiness without being bombarded by everyone else’s definition of what they think happiness is?“ Alice’s collaborators on the Heron EP include her long-term producer and co-writer Paul Whalley, Jonny Coffer,James Dring, Nick Hahn and Tobias Kuhn. The first single “run away girl” was released on January 1, 2024. The song spent 22 weeks in the Alt Nation Top 18, peaking at #3. In the Alt Nation 36 of 2024, "run away girl" reached #14.
