Embezzlement is not robbery
[edit]Embezzlement is not robbery, rather it is fraud or theft. Robbery requires the use of force, or threat of its use, to effect the taking of money or other property. In other words, it involves committing an assault in order to committing theft. The sources are not precise nor consistent about describing what crime has been committed, as they also say this was a theft or an embezzelment. Then again, reporters are not lawyers, nor are they police officers, so we cannot expect them to understand the different definitions of robbery and theft, and they appear to be using these criminal terms very loosely and vaguely. The absence of violence means this article should be called a theft, or fraud, not a robbery. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 08:41, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
