Abu Sa'id GardeziGardizi – Per WP:COMMONNAME; this name is also more trivially more concise and unambiguous.

Per sources Early Islamic Iran, Encyclopaedia of Islam, Iranica, The History of Central Asia: The Age of Islam and the Mongols, Early Seljuq History: A New Interpretation.. etc.

  • Support. Full names for historical Muslim figures usually look like Abū Saʿīd ʿAbd-al-Ḥayy ibn Żaḥḥāk ibn Maḥmūd Gardīzī and the average reader has no idea what is what, so the best policy is to stick to the most common name, adding others only as necessary for disambiguation. I do not know if there are other notable Gardizis, but this is the primary topic regardless. Srnec (talk) 20:02, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
