[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: First is moved, second not moved. Consensus that there's no primary topic. (non-admin closure) — Amakuru (talk) 09:26, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
Procedural nomination; I'm completing this on behalf of a new and inexperienced editor who initially just overwrote the archer with the businessman, before being told that he could not do that and would have to file an RM for discussion if he felt strongly that the businessman should be considered WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for the undabbed name. His argument was that the businessman has been notable for far longer, and for much more important reasons of much greater public interest — and that article does admittedly cite a much broader range of citations dating all the way back to 1997, and may indeed have qualified for an article long before the archer could ever have gotten over WP:ATHLETE. Indeed, an article about the businessman was attempted in 2011, although it was deleted at AFD for making and sourcing far less compelling evidence of notability than the version that exists now. However, his rationale also included that the businessman is older and should thus be accorded PRIMARYTOPIC on the basis of age seniority, but he's already been advised that that's not a criterion that will enter into the decision one way or the other — and he's also betrayed troubling hints of having a potential conflict of interest of some kind, claiming ownership rights over the plain title on the grounds that the original deleted article was created by "his associates". Again, this is a strictly procedural nomination on my part, which I'm submitting because it was requested by an editor who doesn't know how to complete the process himself — I have no opinion on the merits, and leave it to a consensus of Wikipedians to decide. - Move archer, create twodabs Googlebooks indicates almost exactly equal notability, with a computing writer taking third place, therefore no primary topic by definition. In ictu oculi (talk) 16:16, 11 April 2016 (UTC)
- What In ictu oculi said – no primarytopic here. Dicklyon (talk) 17:13, 11 April 2016 (UTC)
- As with the last two'. I would say the businessman probably holds more notability but disambiguation is the best option.Peter Rehse (talk) 08:20, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
- I agree with In ictu oculi, there is no primary topic here. Dimadick (talk) 05:26, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
