[edit]Is this Aberdeen named after the original and first Aberdeen, in the United Kingdom? If so, which I assume it must be, isn't it worth mentioning this in the article?

Nearest City?
[edit]This article notes "Nearest City: Baltimore, Maryland (36.30 miles)". However, the nearest city is really Havre de Grace, Maryland (4.8 miles)". Is there some standard for choosing the "Nearest City" in such articles? Is it meant to be "Nearest Major City", or precisely "City"? If the former, what's the definition of "Major", and shouldn't it be referenced? If the latter, it should reference Havre de Grace. --Joe Sperrazza (talk) 17:34, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

APG sex scandal
[edit]I think that the "sex scandal at Aberdeen Proving Ground" should be moved to the APG main article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4wajzkd02 (talk • contribs) 03:10, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Dagger Press
[edit]The Dagger has gained a legitimacy as legitimate media in Harford County especially in Aberdeen. Many issues on political agendas in the county and city councils of Harford County are discussed in the Dagger in the comments following articles about pending legislation to include comments by Council Persons , Delegates, and Senators. Some here have called it a blog and removed its mention as such. The Dagger, locally published, does in fact have "hard News " items that are not commentary or editorialized and are of a local nature. The other publications such as the Record and Aegis (print), on the other hand, have letters to the editor which is exactly the same as blog comments. Its time to recognize the Dagger and mention it as a source of local media (electronic)in the section already in existence. The radio station mentioned does not transmit much further than Aberdeen and the Record has a very limited circulation. The Dagger has a similar purpose and a wider distribution than both and should not be excluded from the list.
Thank you for your consideration.

- I removed the link from the first time you posted it. It was my first time ever hearing of your site. I scanned through the articles that you had published in the past few days and checked random spots of your archive (which goes back to Sep 2007). The blog comment wasn't focused so much at the comments as it was the articles, of which many are written in an off-hand, informal, blog style. There didn't seem to be any clear separation here between a news site and a few people commenting on local events, such as these examples: [1] [2] [3]. However, I do not know the official rules for designations of "news" sites. I cringe a bit, but I will leave it on there, as-is, for more experienced editors to view. Notice of requested move
[edit]It has been proposed to move Aberdeen to Aberdeen, Scotland or Aberdeen city, and to move Aberdeen (disambiguation) to Aberdeen. The discussion about this is here. --Una Smith (talk) 16:32, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Ripken family
[edit]If Cal Ripken Jr. and his brother Billy Ripken lived in Aberdeen as children, wouldn't it make sense for their father, Cal Ripken, Sr., to have lived in Aberdeen as well? Bill S. (talk) 07:02, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
