The result of the move request was: Moved to Abdul Hamid (politician, born 1886). Since there were multiple ministers of this name, we will have to fall back to birth year. (closed by non-admin page mover) — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 18:36, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
Minister Abdul Hamid → Abdul Hamid (politician) – Suits better. DIVINE 14:47, 14 July 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 00:09, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

- If they are popularly known as "Minister Abdul Hamid" then this is the correct WP:COMMONNAME? Polyamorph (talk) 14:51, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
- In south Asian countries like Bangladesh, people call minister an minister that's a common thing. In India, they call Memeber of Parliament MP or Neta J which is common thing. DIVINE 15:39, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
- I'm going to contest this one. The requested target is a redirect to the president of Bangladesh. Given the ambiguity over the common name I think this would be best discussed as a full RM.Polyamorph (talk) 20:30, 14 July 2022 (UTC)

- @Polyamorph: @DIVINE: Originally when creating the article, I was intending on naming it Abdul Hamid (politician) but then realised that it was taken. Many of the sources refer to him as Minister Abdul Hamid, so I decided that was the next best option. SalamAlayka (talk) 11:17, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
- So, i think the redirect should be erased and the page should be moved. DIVINE 18:59, 17 July 2022 (UTC)

- The current title is definitely problematic: per WP:TITLESINTITLES, we don't start page names with titles except in unusual circumstances that aren't present here. The president of Bangladesh is commonly referred to as Abdul Hamid, though, so the minister doesn't seem to be the primary topic for Abdul Hamid (politician). I would support an alternate disambiguator like Abdul Hamid (minister), which is probably the best solution (we could use Abdul Hamid (politician, born 1886), but birth-date disambiguation is rarely ideal). - To clarify, I'm fine with Abdul Hamid (politician, born 1886), per Necrothesp's points below. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 17:43, 29 July 2022 (UTC)

- Abdul Hamid (minister) seems to be the best solution. Polyamorph (talk) 09:55, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
- Support I agree, Abdul Hamid (minister) is best. SalamAlayka (talk) 17:33, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
- Support Abdul Hamid (politician, born 1886). Usual disambiguation. There are other Abdul Hamids who have been ministers, and highlighting a single office in a disambiguator is rarely a good idea anyway. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:09, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
- support Abdul Hamid (politician, born 1886). Usual disambiguation under such circumstances. —usernamekiran (talk) 13:30, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
