I've begun the process of cleaning up this article to conform to Wikipedia's standards. Blogs and fan websites should only be used very sparingly when absolutely necessary. In most cases, they should be avoided and only used in conjunction with more reliable, secondary sources. Also, self-promotion by CEI isn't a solid basis alone for inclusion. If something isn't being covered by reliable sources, then it shouldn't be covered here.
If you can help by adding more sources for existing claims in the article, please do. As the process continues, unsourced and/or irrelevant information will be removed. --GoneIn60 (talk) 22:39, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Although we may have hooked horns in the past, I do have to agree that portions of Mr. Fechter's article have now grown more prophecy-like instead of encyclopedic. A bunch of recent edits from an anonymous user, with no other page experience, exemplify this. The verification given was this user has "intimate and personal knowledge of [these events]". I do keep up, occasionally - Hope we can let some of our past scuffles pass here. Best, Patrick Boots CEC (talk) 18:40, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Jaspercec, you recently added August 18, which is not sourced in the article. See WP:V and WP:RS for more info on citing claims. Also, the external link you added shows as a malicious website. This is violates #3 of WP:ELNO. Discuss your changes here and seek consensus instead of reverting the article back to your preferred version. --GoneIn60 (talk) 22:02, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
it is probably your anti virus flagging it it is completely fine for me the first mmbb show came out in june 1990 i saw a video of a cued band playing a rae tape before the mmbb tape came out my best guest was august 18 1990 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaspercec (talk • contribs) 22:14, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
First, be sure to indent replies by using a colons (:) and also sign your replies with 4 tildes (~~~~). See Help:Talk pages#Indentation and WP:SIG for more info on those.Secondly, you'll need to use proper grammar and punctuation here if you'd like to discuss this further. The external link is not acceptable, as it is identified as running malicious code. Even if it works fine for you, I would highly suggest avoiding that site. It has been compromised. For the August 18 claim, do not write as "August 18th". See MOS:DATE for an explanation. But before you put it back, be sure to cite a source for that claim. We don't use best guesses here or other forms of original research. We can only include information that is supported by reliable sources. Since you're new here, you may want to look over Help:Introduction for tips on editing and/or visit the Teahouse, where other experienced editors can answer any questions you have about editing on Wikipedia. --GoneIn60 (talk) 22:26, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Forgot to add... The Apple computer claim that you're disputing is documented in the cited source at this link. As you can see, connecting to an Apple computer was under development at one time. --GoneIn60 (talk) 22:30, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
We have the source that shows it was under development, but not a source that shows it was scrapped. Any source you can provide to backup the claims you're making would be helpful (and definitely required). --GoneIn60 (talk) 22:48, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not clicking some random URL you dropped here, and even if it is legit, self-published content doesn't count as a reliable source. Do you have any information that is reliably published? Have you read WP:RS, specifically WP:SOURCEDEF? There are three elements that are gauged for reliability: the work itself, its creator, and its publisher. If any of those are questionable or lack a "reputation for fact-checking and accuracy", then the source cannot be considered reliable per WP:QUESTIONABLE. --GoneIn60 (talk) 04:23, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
