==Israel==

Before jredmond makes his ritual deletion, I'd like to argue for its inclusion. On the Talk Page for 2045, he stated that "General consensus so far is that these anniversaries are more clutter than content. The only possible exception is if something encyclopedic happens during an observation of the anniversary." I understand this argument for something like the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking. It's not going to sink again in 2012, but if the centennial of the founding of the modern state of Israel doesn't garner any mention in historical records, including Wikipedia, if it still exists, I would be very surprised. In fact, unless, President Ahmadinejad has his way, and the nation is "wiped off the map" before then, this day will undoubtedly be violent, and at the very least see massive demonstrations.

I won't kid myself in believing it's not going to be deleted anyways, but at least I've had my say here. --Palpatine 01:11, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
