[edit]"I am a soldier serving in the 503d Infantry, I was just wanting to see what others had to say about us. Here is the history that all of us here at the 503d know."
- That's great, thanks for the update, but you should not just blow away the article with your version. Add to it, make it Wiki-fied, etc. Beanbatch 03:47, 11 September 2005 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Therock503rd.jpg
[edit]Image:Therock503rd.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

- I'm not sure what triggered the bot, but the image is a desert version of the original unit patch and was (and probably still is) being issued to soldiers in the 503rd. It's public domain, as a piece of military wear. EvilCouch (talk) 02:01, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
First successful combat jump?
[edit]I'm pretty sure that the German assaults on Norway, the Low Countries, and especially Crete, as well as the Anglo-American assault on Sicily involved combat jumps and happened before the 503rd's jump on New Guinea. I'm cutting this out until someone finds a source. FOARP (talk) 14:14, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

503rd Airborne Regimental Combat Team should redirect to this page?
[edit]The 503rd Airborne Regimental Combat Team mentioned in Panay Liberation Day and other articles, should redirect to here, I believe. I therefore created such a redirect page. --Iloilo Wanderer (talk) 06:03, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
OEF VI
[edit]This article completely lacks any mention of 2/503rd's deployment to Afghanistan in '05. Considering it was the first deployment for either battalion to Afghanistan as well as having 2nd battalions highest casualty rate since Vietnam, I'd say this overlook is a smack to the face to any Rock Paratrooper served through that deployment. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.131.188.5 (talk) 16:23, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
