Listing team, driver, crew chief, etc. changes for the season

[edit]

The editor who reverted my edit adding back the list of team and driver changes that had been listed in the chart requested that we discuss this on the talk page of the article, so I'm starting the discussion here.

I think that we should continue to list all these changes below the charts in the NASCAR season articles. Not only have we been doing this for years, but this is an informative way for people who read the article to know about the changes that have happened over the offseason who may not read other websites (which may include articles cited next to each team/driver's name), plus by listing these changes the way we've done, we have a comprehensive list of them in chronological order unlike other NASCAR news sites.

I did read the Proseline page and I didn't intend on making these edits only to be the first to add something. I think that some minor changes could be made to prevent us from breaking the rules of that, but I think it should be a timeline in chronological order of when each team/driver change was made. Maybe we could remove the dates at the beginning of each bullet but still list each team/driver change in chronological order? Cavanaughs (talk) 22:37, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think including major/notable changes is entirely reasonable. Listing every single minor sponsor, contract renewal, or crew chief change is not necessary and delves into WP:FANCRUFT and makes the article unreadable. We should consider how to implement this into a shorter, easier to read section. Perhaps a "notable changes"? or somesuch. I'd love to hear from other editors. glman (talk) 15:44, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Owners Points Classification?

[edit]

How come no one has been placing Owner Points Classification yearly?

It's an integral part of a NASCAR team rankings but not placed?!? Yeahimaboss413 (talk) 01:54, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The total points do not match the information in the race articles.

[edit]

If I sum all points given in racing articles plus the points from the Duels, Chase Elliott should have 508 points (88 stage points) and Truex should have 491 points. --Mark McWire (talk) 20:20, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
