Wikipedia is not a news website

[edit]

@Greencarp I have tagged this article as needing clean-up because it reads like a court report or similar news article. Wikipedia is not a news website. See WP:NOTNEWS. Wikipedia articles that describe WP:EVENTS need to demonstrate those events have a lasting effect or have ongoing coverage beyond the initial news coverage. This event is already documented at List of school attacks in China so I am unclear why a separate article is necessary. Since nobody was killed and the perpetrator appears to have received a suspended death sentence, so is unlikely to be executed. Unlike the 2024 Zhuhai car attack, which raised concerns of personal safety in China, which you also allude to in this article, this attack does not seem to have had similar concerns raised, nor has it been linked as a copycat crime to the earlier attack. If the two attacks are known to be connected, then it would be helpful if this connection was explained. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 11:30, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
