@Ardashir64: Still got Arrests in Jordan (2021), sort it out, please.Selfstudier (talk) 10:20, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Alleged attempt

[edit]

Even the Washington post who was first to report on incident described it as alleged. This name move is abiding by reliable sources, anyone who wishes to reverse the edit will have the burden of proof. Makeandtoss (talk) 11:53, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of ex-Mossad agent from infobox

[edit]

[1], the source:[2] says in the headline "Former Mossad agent allegedly involved", if a RS sees that as being involved, we can also say that on wikipedia. --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 11:57, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

And the subheading says he "has insisted that he has never worked for the Israeli Mossad." so it's not a case of a reliable source saying he's one,. Kenosha Forever (talk) 16:53, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The infobox said "alleged". --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 16:56, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Still WP:UNDUE also possible WP:BLP violation Shrike (talk) 18:04, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The entire info box doesn't belong here - this is not some "conflict" with belligerents etc... Kenosha Forever (talk) 21:52, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming

[edit]
Time to treat the incident for what it really is, a purge of a dissident prince and his acquittances, and arrests of politicians suspected of what seems to be land sales in East Jerusalem. Majority of sources are casting doubt on the official version of an attempted coup. I will rename the article to the more descriptive "2021 arrests in Jordan". If anyone disagrees please take it to the talk page to discuss a better terminology, anything away from the "coup" claim. Makeandtoss (talk) 19:44, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Agree, and I think that in addition to renaming you need to remove the "conflict" infobox - there are no "belligerents" here, nor "commanders", "casualties" etc... Kenosha Forever (talk) 15:23, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Makeandtoss, every single source is calling it "alleged coup", regardless what it in fact was. Please explain the renaming to me because I don't understand it at all. Julia Domna Ba'al (talk) 16:59, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Most reliable news sources reporting on the issue during past three days have described it as a “destabilizing plot”, using the government’s own words. Others dedicated entire articles to criticize the government’s early coup attempt claims. Makeandtoss (talk) 17:03, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

should not include military infobox

[edit]

This is not a military battle. The use of infobox in this article should be reconsidered. Gorebath (talk) 23:37, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The military infobox was leftover from when the article was called a Coup d'état. Wowzers122 (talk) 01:04, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well it's not called that now, and even if it was most of our Coup d'état articles don't contain such an infobox. It should simply be removed. Kenosha Forever (talk) 01:41, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed it. Wowzers122 (talk) 02:03, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
