Parties

[edit]

The article says "Only four parties registered to contest the election; the Jamaica Labour Party, People's National Party, the United Independents’ Congress and the Jamaica Progress Party." - but does not mention the third again. It then mentions the JAM, which seems to be another party. Later the Jamaica Progressive Party - is that the same as the Jamaica Progress Party ? -- Beardo (talk) 22:02, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The text was changed today by an IP in this edit. Previously it made sense.
The Electoral Commission results only list two parties – the JLP and PNP – as contesting the elections; the candidate claimed to be the JAM's sole representative is officially listed as an independent. Perhaps 744cody (who added the information about the JAM) can clarify.
In the meantime, I have amended the article to state that the JLP and PNP were the only two parties to run. Number 57 22:19, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Constituency Map

[edit]

Good day, can someone who can do graphic things update the constituency map? I'd love to but I'm incredibly unskilled. Cheers! --Justin J. Liu (Dylan Smithson) (talk) 02:54, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And while that's being done, please re-color the percentage-turnout bar at the top. As it's at the top, I saw it first, and since someone used the colors of the parties to indicate voting vs. non-voting, the impression I got was that the PNP had won in a landslide, especially since the constituency map doesn't indicate party. Yellow and black would be a vastly better choice, as they are Jamaican flag colors that neither of the main parties uses. Scutigera (talk) 15:00, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think they're basic colors on the template. But they were grey as of recently. I think this is proof having the bar be Dark grey/light Grey instead of Green/Red was better.--Aréat (talk) 15:04, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
