At this early stage we don't know the impact on Turkey and it may be better to use 2020 Iran–Turkey earthquake if the effects are of similar scale in both countries. The epicentre is very close to the border. Mikenorton (talk) 11:53, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Further to this, the only reported deaths are in Turkey although there are more injured in Iran. Looking at three separate epicentre determinations (USGS, Kandilli Observatory (Turkey) and Iranian Seismological Center), one of them is in Turkey and two in Iran, so I think that the suggested title above is more descriptive and accurate. As there's been a second earthquake of similar magnitude (or slightly larger, depending on which agency you use) close to the first. Once the news reports start coming in, this should be moved to 2020 Iran–Turkey earthquakes. Mikenorton (talk) 18:10, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
