Question

[edit]

Why are only about half of the winners announced? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gagaluv1 (talkcontribs) 02:07, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Source identifying two different winners for Choice Single (or Song) by Group

[edit]

I came across this CBS News article showing the following in the winners list:

  • Choice Song (Group): "Story Of My Life" - One Direction
  • Choice Single (Group): "Bo$$" - Fifth Harmony

Several other sources identify the first as being the case, including here and here. Why CBS would identify two winners is beyond me, and perhaps this might be part of the voting controversy stated in the article here. It also goes hand-in-hand with the winner for the category being changed here several times. Anything that sheds light on this may help. MPFitz1968 (talk) 14:59, 17 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Saw the broadcast of the 2014 Teen Choice Awards via a YouTube video (which I don't think I can submit as a reference as the one who uploaded it is likely not the holder of the copyright—there are already plenty of secondary sources addressing the list of winners anyway— but I accept the video as the broadcast of the show on FOX in August). At this point in the video, it clearly identifies One Direction's hit as the winner of this category (the award was not presented live, but watch the caption below the members of One Direction showing the awards they won). No other place within the video did I see any mention of Fifth Harmony winning the category; even when they were on stage a few minutes earlier as presenters, I saw no surfboard awarded to them at all. I invite anyone who is concerned to watch the video of the broadcast here.

Thus, I question any source which declared Fifth Harmony as the winner, given that the broadcast of the award show is considered a primary source in this case, assuming the video I watched has not been altered or impured of its essential content. Per the broadcast of the award show, One Direction is the winner, and it is reflected in the appropriate category (Choice Music, Song: Group). MPFitz1968 (talk) 00:45, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
